Skrine was recently invited by Project ID to participate in virtual career fairs for secondary school students as part of Project ID’s Career InSight Career Fair programme in collaboration with Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO), a Bank Negara Malaysia-supported initiative pioneered by all financial institutions in Malaysia to provide underprivileged youth with guidance and educational tools.
 
Over the span of two weeks between 30 September to 12 October 2021, our Partner, Trevor Padasian, Senior Associates Diba Natalia, Alyshea Low, Siew Suet Mey and Annjili Gunendran, and Associates Joanna Tan, Teng Wei Hun and Cedric Chan participated in four virtual career fairs. Their sessions were attended by around 70-100 students from twelve different secondary schools across the states of Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Sarawak and Sabah. During these sessions, our fellow Skrinees shared about the career path to becoming a lawyer, the background of the firm, the career opportunities available, and the skills and requirements looked for.
 
The students were very interested to learn about a career in law and had many insightful questions. We are delighted to learn that they gave very positive feedback to Project ID, with one student reflecting that “Ceramah yang diberikan sangat jelas dan membuka lebih luas tentang kerjaya yang saya minati.”
