SKRINE X PROJECT ID

As part of Skrine’s collaboration with Project ID, the firm recently hosted five Form 4 students from different schools in the Klang Valley area as mini-interns from 27 February 2023 to 10 March 2023. This is part of Project ID’s EduKerjaya programme, a hybrid career aspiration programme aimed at helping youth identify their career aspirations and equipping them with skills and knowledge to help them pursue their career goals.

During the mini-internship, the students attended talks and sharing sessions conducted by our lawyers, which allowed them to learn about various topics and aspects of a legal career. We also organised a Negotiation Competition, in which the students were tasked to represent parties in a negotiation involving the sale of a restaurant. Aside from the planned sessions, the students carried out research and drafting work for their respective supervisors: Dhanyaa Shreeya, Angela Hii, Chong Hong Kiat, Wong Shun Yong and Sarah Azahar.

In addition to the mini-internship, Skrine also hosted all EduKerjaya participants – a group of 30 students – for a tour of the firm on 3 March 2023. We also arranged for a court visit to the Kuala Lumpur High Court, which the students were very excited about. On 10 March 2023, the last day of the EduKerjaya programme, we were invited to a closing lunch with Project ID, the EduKerjaya participants, and the other host employers and corporate partners which included CIMB Bank Berhad, Google Malaysia, and Cancer Research Malaysia.

We are grateful to our Partners and lawyers who volunteered to be a part of this meaningful initiative – our Partners, Trevor Padasian and Janice Ooi, as well as our lawyers comprising Kalaiarasan Rasadurai, Gooi Yang Shuh, Siew Ka YanJoshua Teng, Beatrice Yew, Cheam Tat Sean, Grace Mah, Vanessa Ho, Tham Zhi Jun, Nurhaziq bin Abdullah, Khirranya Ganesan, Tan Li Gang (Scott), Maisyarah binti Aziz, Rachel Chiah and Tan Wei Liang. The students were thrilled to be able to meet so many lawyers!

A big thank you to the students and to Project ID for having us, and we look forward to more programmes together!
