5th Sabah FCAS International Dragon Boat Race

The Skrine Dragons made their way to Sabah on 10 - 14 May 2018 to participate in the 5th Sabah FCAS International Dragon Boat Race. The team competed in open waters against 69 other teams, both domestic and international.
It was a tough journey battling not just our competitors, but also the intense heat and choppy waves during practice and official race. Our fledgling team, which comprised mostly of fresh paddlers and a mix of staff, lawyers and pupils, managed to hold our own in not just one but three race categories, one of which was the International Mixed (Big Boat) 800m race! This marked a momentous achievement for the Team, because the Team had not previously trained for this category. However, with the kind generosity of the FCAS committee and the sheer determination of the Team, we took on the 800m race and crossed the finish line with vigour and tenacity.
Skrine Dragons look forward to the next race and opportunity to paddle alongside fellow Skrine members.
