Skrine, together with the largest specialist IP chambers in the UK - 8 New Square - were the proud hosts of the Malaysian book launch for the 10^th edition of Russell-Clarke & Howe on Industrial Designs (the leading practitioner’s text on industrial design laws) recently. This was a momentous occasion as, for the first time in its publication history, a Malaysian section was contributed by Skrine’s own Hemalatha Parasa Ramulu.
 
It was an honour to have Federal Court Judge, The Hon. Justice Tan Sri Datuk Nallini Pathmanathan, deliver the opening speech, followed by the keynote address from the lead author himself, Martin Howe KC. Our co-head of the IP practice, Khoo Guan Huat, presented welcoming remarks.
 
We were delighted to welcome our distinguished guests, including Her Excellency Ailsa Terry CMG (the British High Commissioner to Malaysia), members of the Malaysian Judiciary, Puan Yusnieza Syarmila Binti Yusoff and Puan Sharifah Nadiah Binti Syed Sheikh (the deputy Director General and the Head of Designs of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia) as well as prominent members of our IP fraternity. 
 
The event concluded over drinks and light bites. As always, any reason to spend time outside of the courts with our IP friends is welcome!
