Jeremy Lee has joined Skrine as a partner in our Regulatory Compliance and Financial Institutions Practice Group

Skrine is pleased to announce that former Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Director of Consumer and Market Conduct Department, Jeremy Lee has joined Skrine as a partner in our Regulatory Compliance and Financial Institutions Practice Group. Jeremy brings with him a wealth of experience from his 33 years of central banking experience regulating and supervising the banking and insurance industry in Malaysia.
 
During his time with BNM, Jeremy held various senior leadership positions, including General Counsel and Director of the Financial Intelligence and Enforcement Department. Jeremy was also the former Chief Executive Officer of the Ombudsman for Financial Services (OFS) (August 2012 – November 2017) and was BNM’s representative in the Small Debt Restructuring Committee (SDRC) formed to provide assistance to small and medium enterprises that are constrained by financial difficulties.
 
Jeremy is currently an independent non-executive director of the OFS and an independent director of Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM), the statutory trade association recognised by the Government of Malaysia for all registered insurers who transact general insurance business.
