Visit Skrine Day

In collaboration with Teach for Malaysia, Skrine’s Social Responsibility Unit organized a Visit Skrine Day for 29 students from SMK Convent Jalan Peel on 17 October 2018.

It was a good half day itinerary for these Form 2 students, where they were able to tour Skrine and interact with the lawyers from different practice areas. They were exposed to the legal education path, the role and work of lawyers, and different areas of law. The highlight of the day was the breakout sessions, were students were divided into groups and rotated between rooms with lawyers from the 3 main divisions of Skrine – Corporate, Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property. During the breakout sessions, the students got the opportunity to ask their burning questions to the lawyers, and obtain insights into “a day in the life of a lawyer” and the essential qualities needed to be an outstanding lawyer.

The day rounded off with a tour of the Kuala Lumpur High Court guided by a registrar.

We received positive feedback from the teachers and students. They were grateful for our efforts in “expanding their worlds beyond the walls of a classroom”.
