Transaction News: Skrine advises Malaysian Technology Development Corporation on its first investment into Japanese VC Fund

Skrine is pleased to share that it has advised the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, on its investment into the Real Tech Fund Investment Partnership Global 1 Fund. The Fund is a venture capital fund established mainly for investments in ASEAN region unlisted companies with advanced deep-tech technologies which aim to provide support to the investee companies in various respects, in particular for expansion into the Japanese market. MTDC which was established by the Government of Malaysia to spearhead the development of technology businesses in Malaysia and to create an effective ecosystem for commercialisation of homegrown technologies. The investment is noteworthy in that it is MTDC’s first investment into a Japanese VC and for the Real Tech Fund, is the first by a non-Japanese investor.
