Patents Act Amendment

On 18 March 2022, we received a notice from MyIPO (Patent Office) on the implementation of fee increases and changes to the forms for patent matters and that it would take immediate effect pursuant to the coming into force of the Patents (Amendment) Act 2022, Patents (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and Directive of Patents Act 1983 and Patents Regulations 1986. Also effective 18 March 2022, all patent applications requiring payment of fees will have to be filed manually at the MyIPO counter until further notice.

For new patent applications, please be aware that we are unable to do e-filing and your urgent instructions together with the relevant documents should be received at least 2 days in advance of the deadline to ensure that the applications are filed before the MyIPO counter closes at 3:30 pm each working day.
