Vietnam launches anti-dumping investigation on imports of certain Prestressed Steel Cable Products from Malaysia, Thailand and China

On 5 July 2023, the Government of Vietnam initiated an anti-dumping duty investigation on imports of certain prestressed steel cable products originating from Malaysia, Thailand and China (“products”).
 
The anti-dumping investigation was initiated by virtue of a petition dossier filed by Hoa Phat Prestressed Concrete Company Limited (“Petitioner”).
 
The Petitioner has alleged that the products are being, or are likely to be, sold at less than fair value in the Vietnam.
 
According to the Initiation Decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vietnam, the Petitioner is seeking for anti-dumping duties at the rate of 8% on imports of the products from Malaysia, and anti-dumping duties of 11% and 28% respectively for the products from Thailand and China.
 
In the event the Government of Vietnam finds that the Petitioner’s allegations are true, the Government of Vietnam may impose anti-dumping duties on imports of the products.

Interested parties should indicate their intention to respond to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam within 15 days from the date of notification of the investigation.
