The Dewan Negara (Senate) of the Malaysian Parliament passed the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill 2023 (‘the Bill’) on 4 April 2024.
 
The Bill was passed by the Dewan Rakyat (House of Representatives) of the Malaysian Parliament on 11 October 2023 and will now be presented for Royal Assent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Upon receipt of Royal Assent, the Bill will be gazetted and will come into operation on a date to be appointed by the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation by notification in the Gazette.
