On 12 February, our Partners,
Jillian Chia and
Natalie Lim from our Privacy and Data Protection Practice Group were honoured to be invited to a Strategic Engagement Session with the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi) held at the Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya.
During the session, the PDP Commissioner conveyed her appreciation to members of the various working groups appointed to develop strategic documents supporting the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Jillian and Natalie were privileged to be part of the working groups that contributed to the development and drafting of the following: -
• DPO Competencies and Professional Development
• Management of DPO Training Providers
• Personal Data Protection Framework Related to Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Data Commission Establishment Concept Paper
The working groups comprise representatives from diverse sectors such as legal, information technology, financial services, education, governance, and cybersecurity.
