We are proud to share that our associate, Ashreyna Bhatia, from Skrine’s Employment Practice, was invited to speak at the 9th JILPT Tokyo Comparative Labour Policy Seminar 2026, held on 26 March 2026.
Organised by the Japan Institute for Labour Policy & Training, the Comparative Labour Policy Seminar is an annual forum in Tokyo that brings together researchers from across the Asia-Pacific region to engage in cross-jurisdiction discourse on contemporary labour law and policy issues.

Ashreyna’s participation follows her success in winning the Malaysian Society for Labour and Social Security Law’s (the Malaysian Chapter of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law) Research Paper Competition 2025. As part of this achievement, the Japan Institute for Labour Policy & Training sponsored her return airfare and a two-night hotel stay to present her paper at the 9th JILPT Tokyo Comparative Labour Policy Seminar 2026.

Her research paper on youth employment in Malaysia will be published in the 2026 Special Issue of the Japan Labour Issues online journal.
