Our Partner and Head of Privacy and Data Protection, Jillian Chia, attended the Persidangan Perlindungan Data Peribadi 2025 in Penang on 21 July, officiated by Encik Norman Anak Peter, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah of the Jabatan Perlindungan Data Peribadi (JPDP).

At the conference, three new supplemental Data Protection Officer (DPO) guidelines were officially launched and will be available from 1 August 2025:

• DPO Competency Guideline
• Management of DPO Training Provider Guidelines
• DPO Professional Development Pathway and Training Roadmap

Jillian was formally recognised by JPDP for her contributions as part of the Working Group that developed these guidelines. Having led our DPO Intensive Training since May, these new guidelines will be instrumental in supporting that journey and we are proud of Jillian’s role in helping lay this important foundation.
