Our Energy Partner,
Rachel Chiah, was a speaker at Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s Group Legal and Compliance Roundtable 1/2025 last week. Rachel spoke on the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2024 (‘EECA 2024’), including the requirements and obligations thereunder, the impact on businesses, and considerations for consumers moving forward. It was an engaging session, with the various TNB teams sharing their respective viewpoints and input regarding the practical aspects of complying with the EECA 2024. Thank you to Tenaga Nasional Berhad for the invitation.
Energy efficiency is viewed as the “first fuel” in energy transition and has been identified as one of the key levers in Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). The introduction of the EECA 2024 reflects the country’s commitment to transition to clean energy and to achieve net zero by 2050.
