Islamic Sustainable Funding

Islamic Finance and sustainable or responsible investing have a great deal in common. Both have complementary capital-raising and investment approaches with many shared principles, the fundamental one being the increase awareness on ethical and social considerations. Shariah-sensitive investors are increasingly looking at not only the Shariah compliance but also the ESG impact of their investments. Regulators are also increasingly requiring banks and financial institutions to consider and report on the ESG impact of their activities. This forum is designed to discuss how Islamic Finance can be used to promote sustainable development objectives, the products and structures available in the market and the regulatory framework put in place to facilitate green, social and sustainable financing.
