On 4 October 2019, our senior associate, Tan Hui Wen, moderated a panel discussion on “Evolution – What The Future Holds For The Arbitration Industry?”, at the inaugural AIAC - Bar Council - Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Joint Conference at the Asian International Arbitration Centre. 

The panel of speakers comprised of Dato' Nitin Nadkarni (Chairman, Bar Council Arbitration Committee), Mr. Michael McIver (Director & Chief Executive Officer, Plus 3 Consultants), Mr. Joon Liang Foo (President, CIArb Malaysia Branch), Dr. Noorfajri bin Ismail (Ph.D) (Senior Lecturer, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia), Ms. Tatiana Polevshchikova (Deputy Head of Legal, AIAC). 

The panellists discussed challenges and opportunities for the arbitration industry following developments such as Brexit, Singapore Mediation Convention, Belt & Road Initiative, new arbitral institutions, and Artificial Intelligence.
