Skrine x Project ID : Mediation for Everyday Conflicts
05 October 2024
On 5 October 2024, Skrine conducted a virtual workshop called ‘Mediation for Everyday Conflicts’ with our long-time collaborator Project ID.
Our Associates,
Arif Faiz and
Chin Lun Lim, presented on mediation as a conflict resolution method, particularly in the context of everyday conflicts, to a group of 10 secondary school and higher education students. This was followed by a breakout session where the students had a chance to practice their skills as a mediator in regard to a conflict between two parties played by our volunteers from Skrine, comprising
Rachel Chiah,
Shun Yong Wong,
Shamrin Danial Samsul Ariffin,
Akhmal Amaluddin, Simran Kaur, Natalie Leaw, Charmaine Lionel, Pravinan Lai, as well as Arif and Chin Lun.
The student-mediators demonstrated impressive skills in facilitating conflict resolution, and many were able to come up with creative solutions to record an agreement! It was great to hear that the students were excited to put their newly learned mediation skills into practice.
Thank you to Project ID for having us again, and to our facilitators and volunteers who have offered their time in support of this collaboration. This was the last Skrine x Project ID workshop for 2024, and we thank everyone for their efforts in making a lasting impact on the students!
