Pertiwi Soup Kitchen - The Return

Skrine returned to Pertiwi Soup Kitchen last Monday (13 June 2022). On the day, nine of us travelled to the heart of KL to volunteer to help with the dinner service, which Skrine had sponsored for the day.
On the day, part of the team started out early at 5.30pm by helping out with the food preparation activities carried out at Restoran Ali Mubarak. We helped with the packing of the food, and then transferred the boxes and containers to the van. We even got a chance to ride in the van over to Pusat Khidmat Gelandangan Medan Tuanku, where food distribution takes place.
By 6.30pm, the full team of nine Skrinees had arrived and we carried out distribution of the food to the beneficiaries. There was an orderly line and we handed out rice boxes (chicken, fish or prawn), Lexus biscuits, fruits, buns (kaya, peanut or cocoa), ice cream and drinks to each of the beneficiaries.
Approximately an hour later, we had finished serving all the beneficiaries and packed up to leave. We took a few selfies with the Pertiwi Soup Kitchen team. As is customary for any Skrine outing, we ended the night with food (some excellent cheese naan) and drinks at the RSMY restaurant nearby.
