Skrine x We Can Academy: Conducting Virtual Trials & Hearings during the Pandemic

On 31st July 2021, as part of Skrine’s social responsibility initiatives and collaboration with the We Can Academy, our Partner, Jocelyn Lim, and Senior Associate, Kalaiarasan Rasadurai gave an online talk on Conducting Virtual Trials & Hearings during the Pandemic which was streamed live on YouTube. The We Can Academy is an educational program which works with professionals from different industries to introduce students from B40 communities to diverse industries. This talk was conducted as part of the We Can Academy’s initiative known as “Work in Progress”, which is an online series where professionals share about something current they are working on, with the aim of exposing students to current happenings through the lens of people from different industries.

During the talk, attended by students generally between the ages of 10 to 12, Jocelyn and Kalai shared about why they chose law as their career, their daily lives as lawyers before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and their experience with virtual trials and hearings due to the pandemic. The talk ended with a Q&A session.

A big thank you to the students and the We Can Academy for having us and we look forward to running more programmes together in the future!
