The firm's structured attachment programme for the year 2019 has two separate sessions, one in July and the other in August. Each session runs for 3 weeks.
The attachment students are exposed to the breadth of Skrine's practice areas.
Each attachment student will be assigned to a lawyer for the duration of the attachment. The lawyer’s role is to act as a mentor to the attachment student.
The attachment students will be given assignments and attend talks organised by the firm on various topics, including the firm’s practice areas, Skrine’s library usage and research skills, professional development talks, and lawyers’ personal experience. We also organise an Internal Moot for our attachment students, to give them an insight into arguing a contentious case. Visits will also be arranged to the courts and, subject to scheduling, various regulatory bodies.
All this is intended to provide the attachment students with an overview of real practical issues that lawyers deal with in their professional practice.
