Covid-19: RMCO Regulations Further Amended *Update No. 4*

The Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) (No. 7) (Amendment) (No.4) Regulations 2020 (‘Amendment No.4 Regulations’) were gazetted on 31 July 2020 and came into force on 1 August 2020.
 
The Amendment No.4 Regulations insert a new Regulation 4A to the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) (No. 7) Regulations 2020[1] (‘RMCO Regulations’).
 
The new Regulation 4A of the RMCO Regulations provides that there will be control of movement within the State of Sarawak for the period from 1 August 2020 to 14 August 2020 (‘Movement Control Period’). During the Movement Control Period, a person is allowed to move from one place to another within the same zone[2] in Sarawak but a person is prohibited from moving from one zone to another in Sarawak except with the prior written permission of the police officer in charge of the police station nearest to the person’s residence.
