Covid-19: All Courts to be Fully Operational from 1 July 2020 *Update No.5*

Following the announcement by the Prime Minister of Malaysia on the replacement of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) with Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) from 10 June 2020 to 31 August 2020, the Chief Registrar’s Office of the Federal Court has issued a brief statement that all courts across Malaysia will be fully operational beginning 1 July 2020.

Notwithstanding the resumption of all court services, health and safety guidelines when attending court remain a top priority in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. To this end, the ‘Guidelines of Court Operations During the Conditional Movement Control Order Period and Post Movement Control Order’ dated 8 May 2020 continues to apply to all individuals attending court (‘Guidelines’).

The full Guidelines and the general measures to be adhered to by the public within court premises can be found in our earlier Alert.
