Bursa Securities revises minimum commission for non-retail securities transactions denominated in foreign currency

Commencing 17 October 2022, the minimum fixed commission for non-retail trade1 securities transactions (excluding transactions in loan instruments) that are denominated in foreign currency will be reduced from USD10.00 to USD9.00.

The change arises from an amendment made under Participating Organisations’ Circular No. R/R 4 of 2022 to Note 1 of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad’s Directive No. Schedule 6-001 on Commission Rates for Transactions in Securities Denominated in Foreign Currency.

According to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, the amendment is the result of the USD having increased by more than 10% against the Ringgit Malaysia since the Minimum Fixed Commission was prescribed in 2018.
