Skrine acted as Malaysian counsel representing Bureau Veritas in the Malaysian aspects of Bureau Veritas’ disposal of its food laboratory testing business in the Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific to Mérieux NutriSciences, a global leader in the food safety, quality, and sustainability industry.
As announced on 7 October 2024, Mérieux NutriSciences entered into an agreement to acquire a network of 34 laboratories and 1,900 technical staff across 15 countries from Bureau Veritas for an enterprise value of EUR 360 million. The acquisition will, upon completion, strengthen Mérieux NutriSciences’ commitment to promote safer, healthier and more sustainable food systems globally.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024, once customary closing conditions, including regulatory clearance in certain jurisdictions, have been fulfilled.
