Transactions News: Skrine advises KJTS Group Berhad on MYR1.5 billion joint venture with unit of New York-based investment firm Stonepeak Partners LP

Skrine has supported long time client KJTS Group Berhad’s wholly-owned subsidiary KJTS Technical Services Sdn Bhd (“KJTS”) in respect of its entry into a joint venture with Stonepeak Kelvin Holdings Ltd (“Stonepeak Kelvin”), an affiliate of US Fund Stonepeak Partners LP, to invest in cooling energy projects in Malaysia with an estimated value of MYR1.5 billion.

Under the joint venture arrangements, KJTS will hold a 10 per cent stake in the JV company while Stonepeak Kelvin will own the remaining 90 per cent. In addition, KJTS will be appointed as the consultant, engineering, procurement and construction contractor, as well as the operations and maintenance contractor for the JV company.
