Covid-19: Securities Commission and Bursa Malaysia remain open; Bursa varies ‘tick’ rule’ for short selling

Securities Commission Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad announced on 17 March 2020 that they will remain open for the duration of the Movement Control Order issued by the Government of Malaysia, that is from 18 to 31 March 2020.
 
Bursa Malaysia has also issued a directive that with immediate effect and until further notice, all Intraday Short Selling (IDSS), Permitted Short Selling (PSS) and Short Sale in Day Trading Eligible Securities (DTES) are to be subject to the ‘at tick rule’, that is the order price must be at the prevailing best ask/selling price or higher.  The directive can be accessed here.
