Skrine recently advised Iskandar Investment Berhad in relation to a rooftop solar power purchase agreement (‘
PPA’) between its subsidiary, Iskandar Education Enterprise Sdn Bhd, and Skye Renewables Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a solar energy developer. Pursuant to the PPA, Skye Renewables Malaysia Sdn Bhd will build a 649.6 kWp rooftop solar system on the EduCity Complex 1 building at EduCity Iskandar.
EduCity Iskandar, which is located in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, is Asia’s first multi-campus education city comprising 305 acres of universities, higher education institutions, research and development centres, EduCity Village, EduCity Hub and EduCity Sports Complex. The rooftop solar system is expected to generate over 15GWh of power during the contract period, and will allow EduCity Iskandar to significantly minimise carbon emissions by replacing some of its grid usages.
The Skrine team was led by our Projects & Infrastructure Partner,
Richard Khoo, and supported by Senior Associate,
Rachel Chiah.
