The Hotels (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 2003 (“Act”) which, among others, regulates the licensing of hotels in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur has been extended to the Federal Territory of Putrajaya (“Putrajaya”) from 15 July 2021 pursuant to the Federal Territory of Putrajaya (Extension and Modification of the Hotels (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 2003) Order 2021 [P.U.(A) 304/2021] (“Extension Order”).
 
The application of the Act to Putrajaya is subject to the modifications set out in the First Schedule to the Extension Order, amongst which is that an application for a licence or any renewal thereof under sections 4 and 6 respectively of the Act is to be made to the President of Perbadanan Putrajaya.
 
In addition, the Hotels (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) (Compounding of Offences) Regulations 2013 [P.U. (A) 283/2013] are also extended to Putrajaya subject to the modifications set out in the Second Schedule to the Extension Order.
