Transaction News: Simmtech’s RM508 million Semiconductor Factory Scheduled for Completion in Q1/22

KOSDAQ-listed Simmtech Holdings Co. Ltd., a global leader in manufacturing printed circuit boards and packaging substrate for the semiconductor industry, recently announced that the construction of its first large-scale factory in Southeast Asia is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of this year.1
 
The manufacturing facility is located on an 18 acre site at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park in Penang. The investment, valued at RM508 million inclusive of cost of land, construction and equipment, is held through Simmtech’s local unit, Sustio Sdn Bhd.2
 
The operations in the Batu Kawan factory is expected to create more than 1,000 high-skilled jobs in engineering, manufacturing and quality management by the first half of 2022. In addition, Simmtech has expressed interest to develop a local supply chain for better operational efficiency.3
