Bursa Malaysia issues 3rd Guidebook of the Public Listed Companies Transformation Programme

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (‘Bursa Malaysia’) issued the 3rd digital Guidebook of its Public Listed Companies Transformation (‘PLCT’) Programme on 19 August 2022.
 
The PLCT Programme, launched by Bursa Malaysia on 2 March 20221, seeks to raise the stature of Corporate Malaysia and increase the attractiveness of investing in public listed companies ('PLCs’) in Malaysia through an improvement in numerous areas including the financial position, corporate governance and sustainability of PLCs.
 
The PLCT Programme which runs through to 2025 is underpinned by five pillars, namely:
 
  • Be Purpose and Performance-Driven;
  • Grow as Sustainable, Socially Responsible and Ethical Organisations;
  • Have Strengthened Stakeholder Management and Investor Relations;
  • Be Digitally Enabled; and
  • Contribute towards overall Nation Building. 
The 3rd digital Guidebook, ‘Strengthening Stakeholder Management and Investor Relations’, examines the best practices of stakeholder management in PLCs, including the importance of investor relations programmes and associated activities with a view of improving the overall performance of PLCs as well as the establishment of a strong crisis communications team, strategy and plan in order to ensure that PLCs are able to effectively engage and manage stakeholders during crisis events.
