MyCC Releases Final Report on Market Review of Five Food Items (Update)

On 10 June 2019, we issued an Alert stating that the Malaysia Competition Commission (‘MyCC’) has published a Draft Final Report of its Market Review on Food Sector in Malaysia under the Competition Act 2010 on 3 June 2019 and is seeking feedback from the public on the market review in writing and through a series of public consultations. The consultation period ended on 3 July 2019.
 
The MyCC has on 6 August 2019 released the Final Report of its Market Review on Food Sector in Malaysia under the Competition Act 2010. As mentioned in our earlier Alert, the market review focuses on five selected food items, namely infant milk powder, ikan kembung (Indian mackerel), beef, sawi (mustard leaf), and kubis bulat (round cabbage).
