Suspension of short-selling on Bursa Malaysia extended

The Securities Commission Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad have today announced that the suspension of Regulated Short-Selling, Intra-Day Short-Selling and Short-selling by Proprietary Day Traders on Bursa Malaysia which took effect on 24 March 2020 will be extended until 30 June 2020. The suspension of short-selling does not apply to Permitted Short-Selling[1].

[1] Permitted Short-Selling refers to the short-selling of units of an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) or its constituent securities in accordance with Part D of Chapter 4 of the Rules of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
