INTRODUCTION
Skrine currently has one of the oldest and largest construction practices in Malaysia with a team of 11 lawyers, comprising 5 partners and 6 legal assistants of varying degrees of seniority. We provide a full range of legal services from advisory and consultancy services at the pre-construction stages, the drafting, vetting and negotiating of construction contracts, contract administration and the resolution of disputes through litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Our lawyers have also been actively involved with the development of alternative dispute resolution in Malaysia and have a working relationship with industry professionals including architects, engineers and other industry experts.

Our Beginnings

Skrine has been engaged in this area of practice since its formation back in 1963. However, the Construction and Engineering Practice Group began taking shape in the mid 1980’s led by Vinayak Pradhan who to date, continues to helm the Group.

From a loose and scattered practice led by one partner and two legal assistants, the Group consolidated its resources and grew over the years to one which provides full scale legal service to the industry.

Experience
We advise and represent various public and private entities and individuals including owners, main contractors, sub-contractors, design professionals, developers, architectural firms, engineering firms, quantity surveyors, construction and project managers, sureties and suppliers involved in both local and international construction projects.

Our client base covers a broad spectrum of industry areas including the following:-

Oil and gas, local and international developers, local and international contractors, financial institutions, telecommunications, transportation, energy and utilities, health care, hospitality, multi-national construction companies, multinational engineering firms, infrastructure including roads, drainage, highway and railway specialists, major port authorities, refineries, manufacturers and concessionaires.
