Skrine was delighted to host a delegation of lawyers from Huangpu as part of the MyBar Academy X Working Committee of Huangpu Lawyers Training Programme on 7 July 2026. This event provided a wonderful opportunity for these visiting lawyers to engage in an afternoon of legal education, collaboration and international exchange.
 
A warm welcome was extended at the opening of the program by our Senior Partner To’ Puan Janet Looi, followed by an introduction of Skrine’s China Desk by our partner, Claudia Cheah.
 
The program included a presentation on "How the Common Law Operates in Practice" presented by our partner Kailash Kalaiarasu. He offered practical examples of the operational aspects of common law principles in the Malaysian Legal System and drew upon his extensive experience in complex civil and commercial litigation.
 
Our partner Brenda Chan also delivered a presentation entitled "Commercial and Contractual Principles and Case Law". She outlined some practical applications of contractual terms and conditions, including commercial dispute resolution.

当天，我们以资深合伙人To' Puan Janet Looi的欢迎词为分享会拉开序幕。随后，中国服务组主要负责人谢碧怡律师向大家介绍了中国服务组的运作模式、业务范围，以及我们过往为中国客户服务的亮眼成绩。
 
分享环节由我们的合伙人Kailash Kalaiarasu和Brenda Chan共同主讲。Kailash合伙人凭借自身在民事与商业诉讼领域的丰富实战经验，为大家带来了一场关于普通法实务运作的精彩分享。在他的分享中，我们看到了普通法原则在马来西亚法律体系中是如何具体运作的。接下来，Brenda Chan 合伙人围绕商业与合同法原则及判例法应用展开分享。她以深入浅出的方式讲解了合同条款的实务操作与并分享了她在商业争议解决的实战经验。
