Our Dispute Resolution Partner, Mubashir Mansor, was invited by PETRONAS to speak to their group of approximately 80 in-house counsel on the topic of “The Role of In-House Counsel: Why Winnable Cases Are Lost?”

Mubashir shared key considerations for effective case management, drawing on his past experiences. He also highlighted how effective collaboration between in-house counsel and external counsel could contribute to positive outcome of cases. Further, he provided practical guidance on the distinctions between litigation and arbitration, offering insights into the most appropriate forum for dispute resolution depending upon the nature of cases. He then shared some observations on dos and don’ts on the part of in-house counsel, drawn from his experience in dealing with them, to avoid or minimise the risk of losing winnable cases.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A, which continued informally well beyond the event itself.
