Skrine acted for Brooks Automation in respect of its establishment of a 180,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia. This US$60 million (about RM250 million) investment marks a major boost for Johor's industrial ecosystem.
Brooks Automation, a US headquartered global semiconductor and robotics company, has set up this manufacturing facility to enhance its supply capacity for application-specific solutions and product portfolio.
The opening of the manufacturing facility on 22 January 2026 was officiated by the Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who said the investment would generate more than 300 quality jobs, with priority given to local talent, with continuous industrial training provided.
The Menteri Besar added that "
(t)he US$60 million investment, facilitated through the Johor Talent Development Council, aims to create quality jobs with salaries ranging from RM4,000 to RM5,000 and to strengthen Johor's industrial ecosystem while prioritising local talent."
