Appointed Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee of the Bar Council, to carry out an in-depth study of the implications of the amendments to the Legal Profession Act by the Legal Profession (Amendment) Bill 2006, which Committee submitted to the Bar Council a 48 page report.

Advisor to the Executive Committee of the United Nations Association of Malaysia.

After the Banking Mediation Bureau and the Insurance Mediation Bureau were amalgamated and corporatised to be The Financial Mediation Bureau, appointed a Member of the Board of Management.

Between 13th January 1999 and 23rd February 2001 and again from 11th April 2002 to date, served as a member of the Arbitration and Legal Affairs Committee of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI) which committee inter alia evaluates persons to be included in a list of Malaysian "Panel of Arbitrators" to be submitted to International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration by the MICCI.

After retirement from the Bench was appointed and continues to serve as Chairman of the Council of Banking Mediation Bureau and as Chairman of the Insurance Mediation Bureau. These Councils oversee the work of the "Mediators" (who have similar functions as the Banking Ombudsman and the Insurance Ombudsman in England) in respect of complaints against banks and other financial institutions, and insurance companies, respectively.

Between April 1996 and to date completed well over 30 arbitrations, (mostly domestic but including some international) in respect of commercial disputes sitting either as Sole Arbitrator or as a member of an Arbitral Tribunal. Also successfully mediated in one International Mediation, a claim by Australian Contractors against a Malaysian Company.

On attaining age 65 years on 13th December 1995, retired from the Bench on 31st December 1995 and thereafter has been and is a Legal Consultant.

Has had over a hundred written judgments reported in various law journals including Butterworth's Malayan Law Journal, Current Law Journal, Intellectual Property in Asia and the Pacific and in the Intellectual Property Reports of Australia.

In 1995 completed a series of lectures to members of the Malaysian Bar on "Expectations of the Court of Appeal" and another series to Junior members of the

Bar on "Etiquette and Practice at the Bar" and continues from time to time to lecture to groups of junior members of the Bar on Advocacy.

Was active member of the Junior Chamber and is a Senator of Junior Chamber International.

From time to time has participated as paper writer at Colloquiums and Seminars inter alia organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) the last two being the Colloquium on "The Judiciary and the Intellectual Property System for Asian Countries" held in New Delhi India in 1994 and in 1995 at the WIPO-ASEAN Colloquium on Intellectual Property for the Judiciary, the paper read being "Protection against Unfair Competition" including "Trade Secrets and Protection of well known Trade Marks".

Member of the Advisory Board in respect of the Comprehensive work, Butterworth's Malaysian Court Practice.

Member of Panel of Conciliators and of Arbitrators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) from 24th January 1990 to 23rd January 1996.

From time to time functions as external examiner in respect of theses submitted for the LLM degree course of the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya.

Honorary lecturer from about 1972 to 1980 to Post Graduate law students at the University of Malaya on "Appeals to the Superior Courts".

Served and serves as Chairman/Convenor of various committees of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church.

Elected President of the premier Malaysian Sports Club, the 6000-member Royal Selangor Club, in June 1994 (re-elected in June 1995). Appointed, from time to time, to serve as Chairman of Disciplinary Boards of the Royal Selangor Golf Club.

Elevated as Judge of the Court of Appeal in September 1994.

In March 1991 appointed Head of the Commercial Division of the High Court at Kuala Lumpur which by then consisted of 6 of the more senior of the High Court Judges.

In March 1987 was conferred the title of Dato' Paduka Mahkota Selangor (D.P.M.S.) by His Highness the Sultan of Selangor.

Since April 1983 functioned as one of the four judges in the newly formed Commercial Division of the High Court at Kuala Lumpur.

Elevated to the Bench of the High Court of Malaya with effect from 1st January 1981.

Elected and served as Chairman of the Malaysian Bar Council from 1974 to 1976.

Elected and served as Chairman of the State of Selangor (which included Kuala Lumpur) Bar Committee 1972 and 1973.

First elected to serve on the Bar Council of Malaysia in 1965 and since then was re-elected every year until 1981 (a record of sorts) when he had to and resigned upon his elevation to the Bench.
